Explosion and fire at Yantian Shenzhen Container Terminal




In the evening Nov 10 explosion and ensuing fire reportedly occurred in the containers stacked at Yantian Container Terminal, Shenzhen, Guandong, China. Fire said to be major, one or more containers’ bottom was burned through, probably container was loaded with lithium batteries. Container or containers which suffered explosion were to be shipped soon – luckily, they exploded while at Terminal, not on board of container ship.
