Two Svitzer tugs help the MSC Nerissa into Felixstowe 21st April 2017

MSC Nerissa was built at the Hanjin Heavy Industries, South Korea in 2004. LoA 294.08m and a Beam of 32.3m. She can carry 5060TEU. As the size of ships increase the older ships are being fazed out and go to the ship grave yards to be scrapped.
The MSC Nerissa sailed from Antwerp with a draft of 13.4 metres with a little bit of a starboard list. The pilot boards out at the Sunk Pilot Station at 12 nautical miles out in the North Sea. As she makes her way in, the pilot orders 2 tugs for berthing one at the corner and the other just inside the harbour. Svitzer Kent heads ou to be made fast on the aft and a little while later the Svitzer Sky heads out to be made fast on the starboard shoulder fo the port swing onto Felixstowe Berth 4.
