Empty Doukato sails to Felixstowe to remove some stranded Hanjin boxes 19th February 2017

257 metre Doukato sails to Felixstowe empty to collect some of the stranded Hanjin boxes that have been taking up vital space in the port to Ningbo where they will be handed to their new owners. Doukato was anchored out in the deep water anchorage for 2 days waiting for her berth to become available. A pilot boarded the Doukato at the Sunk Pilot Station to head in for Felixstowe Berth 4. As requested by Felixstowe she was planned portside to Berth 4. The pilot ordered one tug to meet at the Fort Buoy for the starboard swing and berthing on to Berth 4.
Svitzer Deben was the tug to be made fast aft on a starboard Panama. The Deben was a little concerned about the lead getting caught up in the propeller which was slightly visible out of the water. As the Doukato was so light she swung around with no problems.
