A man has died following an industrial incident at the Port of Felixstowe.
Suffolk police were contacted by Port of Felixstowe Police just before 3pm today.
Officers reported there had been an incident on the quayside and that port paramedics were working to save a man.
A spokesman for Suffolk Constabulary said the man, believed to be in his 50s, was pronounced dead a short time later.


The Health & Safety Executive are working with Suffolk police to investigate what happened.

A man has died following an industrial incident at the Port of Felixstowe.
Suffolk Police were contacted by Port of Felixstowe Police just before 3pm today, Friday 7 August, who reported there had been an incident on the quayside and that port paramedics were working to save a man.
Sadly he was pronounced deceased a short time later. He is believed to be in his 50s.
The Health & Safety Executive are working with Suffolk Police to investigate what happened.

A man has died following an industrial accident at the UK's biggest container port.
The accident happened on the Port of Felixstowe quayside shortly before 15:00 BST.
Port paramedics tried to save the man, who is believed to have been in his 50s, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Suffolk Police and the Health and Safety Executive are working together to investigate the incident.

Not a Port Of Felixstowe employee, this man was doing a civil construction job within the Port.

  1. Nice to see the port stayed respectful and stopped operations in the area.... oh wait they didnt! Rip to the poor man and thoughts are with his family and friends.
